a rocket is launched from a cliff 500m above a plain at a velocity of 350ms-1 at 30° above the horizontal, calculate:

a) the initial horizontal and vertical components.
b) the maximum height reached by the rocket above the plain.
c) the total time of flight.
d) the range of the rocket.
e) the impact velocity of the rocket.

Its very easy..

First get a paper and draw up the variables.
Then look through your textbook/notes for the formulas and equations

Well that is your fault !! go and look at certain examples in textbooks or the internet !!

Good job!

Just one thing to note is that for part b. It asks for how many metres above the plain so you need to add 500 m, which is the cliff height, to the answer you got to give 2060 m (3 sig fig).

Luckily it didn't carry on to other parts of the question. I used 2062.5 m to use a different method for part c and got the same thing as you so everything else should be fine.
