Q about wireless (1 Viewer)

I was using the uni wireless...last thursday...fourth floor, comfy chairs...great spot up there :D

Had massive troubles trying to force it to connect - both in E7B and in the library, eventually was able to force it to connect (yeah, it dropped out every few mins for a while, how annoying!)

The free wireless, if you can get it working, is great though!

And yes, i'm a lurker...not exactly a newbie...

"force" it to connect?

Dont you just.. um.. sit there and wait till it detects a signal?

I'm not much of a lurker ... but very much a forum regular (on other forums!) so I guess Im used to it.

Not exactly. I could have done that.

IIRC, Force = set the essid, then make it look for an IP address.

Then again, i'm not running windows...so...things can be a bit different...

Then again, on windows it wouldnt connect at all...whether it was sitting around waiting, or being actively forced to get an IP address...
