I screwed this question up. I originally read the -4 as a +4, so was starting a different method, but then realised it was a -4. so I had a combination of two different methods, which ended up being quite messy, and I don't think I ended up with the right answer :(

I did some insanely stupid method, i tried to make the top derivative of the bottom, then use reverse chain rule, then i proceeded to use partial fractions for the remainder and miraculously still ended up wtih same answer after about 1.5 pages. Would i still get full marks for that? I hope the marker understands what i did coz im quite messy.

lol it was easily done with quick inspection of partial fractions

I realised that after i completed all that, for some stupid reason I looked at it once and thought it is not factorisable and thought its one of those with tan inverse and log one, but really fml wasted so much time there. I spent like 20+ mins on q1 and didnt get to start q8
