The one where you had to include three appliances in a table. What was expected of us? and which syllabus dot points does it address?
Here's a reproduction of my answer. Yes, i did have the time to draw pretty pictures. Did i do it right? I thought it couldn't be this easy...

We had a similare question in our trial paper.
name 2 appliances in household or industry in which electrical energy can be converted into more useful type of energy.

Well in my trials i wrote oven, converts electrical into heat energy in order too cook food, and in industry an electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical.
i got full marks for that

So for that question i wrote something similar, except for three household appliances

I think you had to talk about energy like; electrical, kinetic, mechanic, light, heat, etc...

Yeah man I'm pretty sure the syllabus says to say what kind of energy it is (kinetic, sound, light) - at least thats what I did

+1 - wrote about how electrical energy gets transformed into sound, light, microwaves etc.
It's from the dot-point,
"gather, process and analyse information to identify some of the energy transfers and transformations involving the conversion of electrical energy into more useful forms in the home and industry"

Were u supposed to tlk about the type of transformer used e.g Step-up or step-down?

Can anyone remember the exact wording of the question?

The structure of the table is going to be important. Also, how did it say transfer and transformation. I can't remember

how much detail do we need to go into though?

Do we need to mention transformers?

I just wrote three of something like:

Radio Transforms electrical energy into sound energy (and some heat energy in the circuits) Used to provide a sound output as entertainment or communication

The question said energy transformations/kinds of energy transfers
It was definitely different types of energy, not voltage step ups/downs.

I wrote about the power drill - electrical -> mechanical through use of motor effect
The induction cooktop - electrical -> heat through electromagnetic induction
And speakers - electrical -> sound through motor effect again
Obviously I used a bit more detail lol

Thats what i mean though.

DId we need to mention things like the motor effect, electromagnetic induction, etc?

I felt it was necessary to, as they're the process of transforming the energy..
Although the question only asked for a summary and uses, so I don't think you needed to
Maybe 3/4?

I just put one energy transfer and transformation from each of these:

Toaster Electrical mains transformation filament Heat transfer to toast
Hairdryer Electrical mains transformation Kinetic fan transfer to air
Computer screen Electrical mains transfer to circuitry and transforms into light at display

That is what it says in jacaranda straight from syllabus

I talked about both energy transformations and then 'transfers' in the transformation column i talked about the changes in form of energy i.e. electrical --> light or whatever and in the transfer i talked about the way the voltage was changed via transformers... do you think ill get marked down for calling transformers transfer of energy Im not sure if thats really the right term to use or if they are just marking on the transformations will it not really matter?

LOL, I drew a box. Apparently you get a mark just for drawing a box. :)
Shows you know how to draw a table.
