Is it possible to be under the cutoff for acturial studies UNSW (97.5 in 2015) and still receive an offer, (say your atar is between 97 and 97.45)? Or do they disregard everyone below 97.5? Thanks!

Its about supply and demand to determine the ATAR cut off each year, and remember some unis give bonus points for getting band 6 in relevant subjects for a degree, so your final 'ATAR' that is used to calculate admission ranking may be different from your actual ATAR.

Course Cut-off is supply and demand. Actuarial Studies doesn't offer Bonus Points.

So for acturial studies where they don't offer bonus points, is it possible to receive an offer even if you are under the 2017 cut off? Or is the cutoff a final line they draw and they don't consider anyone under this mark unless they have EAS etc.

RARELY will they accept below. Even if it's below, maybe 0.05?

It's quite a popular course (not sure why).
