Question about ranking and assessment marks for hsc (1 Viewer)

Okay so i'm lost. Different people are telling me different things. When doing the HSC course, which one matters, the marks you're getting or the ranks u get? Is the assessment mark for the HSC the average of marks u get during school, or is the assessment mark what somebody who had your rank got?
Please let me know because I'm lost

I'm just really curious though. So what if i get rank 1, but i'm averaging 60% throughout the tests? Doesn't that mean they're sending in a 60% mark to BOS?

Your exams maybe difficult as long as your 1st you should be fine provided you do well in your externals and scaling and aligning will take care of itself

When you get the information for an assessment task it should include the weighting of that task. The school will convert your assessment marks to a mark out of that weighting e.g. my first task for my class this year was worth 15% but was out of 20 so the computer will convert the raw marks out of 20 to a mark out of 15. At the end of the course there will therefore be a total mark out of 100. On the basis of that mark the students ranks will be determined. The school sends in whole marks to BOSTES from which they determine ranks and relative gaps between ranks and those are what become important but to determine those things the marks are essential.
