If you fail a course in Year 11, does that mean you can't continue on to Year 12 and you don't get your UAI or HSC?

Because people say year 11 means nothing for year 12 or the hsc but if you don't reach the min requirements in year 11, can they not let you continue in year 12?

You can completely fail year 11 and then still do the hsc... (not recommended that you should follow this option)

Apparently at my school if you fail a subject you can't go on... but I don't see how that's possible.

As long as you don't get an N award. Make sure that this doesn't fall below 12 units. You only get an N award if you don't make a serious attempt. If you failed but tried your best, you won't be awarded an N award.

You can fail all your subjects and still do the HSC.

However, you have to meet the minimum requirements ie undertaking 12 units worth of courses and yes, not getting the "N award".
