Hello All... :)

Could someone please assist me with the following questions?

1. Use a calculator to find, to 2 d.p where appropriate the approximate value of:

a)
lim
h--> 0

2. Find the value of k, correct to 3 d.p if:

ln k = 1.9.

Thanks for your help in advance. :):):)

For 1) just substitute values of h which are very close to zero to get an approximation such that when you round off to two decimal places the number stays the same when you substitute values for h which get closer to zero.

Yes as trebla said, sub in values as close to zero as possible (ie, 0.0000001 and so on) and you should get 2.3 [which is ln(10)]. Interestingly enough, if y=10^x then dy/dx=ln(10)*10^x

And for question 2; just use log laws to get k=e^1.9
