Hello!! I am looking through some past papers and relating them back to the syllabus to write some notes and I came across these points:
P4: assesses the processes and interdependence of key business functions
P5: examines the application of management theories and strategies
Would P4 and P5 be about like contingency, classical and behavioural approaches or does it have to be something about like different parts of operations?
Thanks

P4 is an outcome that is relevant to both the Business management and Business planning topics. P4 refers to the processes and interdependence of operations, marketing, finance and human resources, all of which comprise the key business functions, which are studied as part of the Preliminary course and are emphasised in the HSC course, with each key business function being a topic on its own. The syllabus dot points relevant to P4 within the Business management topic are:

management process
  • coordinating key business functions and resources
  • operations
    • goods and/or services
    • the production process
    • quality management
  • marketing
    • identification of the target market
    • marketing mix
  • finance
    • cash flow statement
    • income statement
    • balance sheet
  • human resources
    • recruitment
    • training
    • employment contracts
    • separation
    • voluntary/involuntary
The syllabus dot points relevant to P4 within the Business planning topic are:

influences in establishing a small to medium enterprise
  • market - goods and/or services, price, location
  • finance - source, cost
  • human resources
    • skills
    • costs - wage and non-wage
the business planning process:
  • organising resources
    • operations
    • marketing
    • finance
    • human resources
P5 is an outcome that is relevant to the Business management topic. You are correct in identifying that P5 is relevant to the management approaches (classical, behavioural and contingency). The syllabus dot points relevant to P5 within the Business management topic therefore include:

management approaches
  • classical approach
    • management as planning, organising and controlling
    • hierarchical organisational structure
    • autocratic leadership style
  • behavioural approach
    • management as leading, motivating, communicating
    • teams
    • participative/democratic leadership style
  • contingency approach
    • adapting to changing circumstances
I hope this helps! :D
