i have a question about the class ranking system.
If for example,i recieved a mark of 20/30 for 10% worth of hsc task and came 10th in the class. But all the people that was ranked better than me got just one mark above me (21/30). In the next task also worth 10%, i beat everyone that beat me in the previous test by 10 marks and came first for that task. will i be ranked first overall or will i be ranked on the average from my rank for the last task(10th) (so average of 1st and 10th=5th)?

At the end of the year, your school will submit two things to the Board of Studies about its students; the ranks of all the students, and the quantity of marks that seperate the ranks.

so if student A recieved a mark of 20/30 for his first assessment and came 10th. Student B recieved a mark of 21/30 for his assessment and came 1st.

In the second assessment student A recieved a mark of 30/30 and came 1st. and student B recieved a mark of 20/30 and ranked 2nd.

so does the school determine the rank of the students by adding up the marks of the assessments so (student A 50/60>student B 41/60) or by adding up the ranks so (student A: 10th for his first assessment and 1st for his second so his final rank is aroud 5th < student B 1st for his first assessemt and 2nd for the second so his final rank will be 1st)?

wrong place to post this thread.

the total rank is determined by total marks, so in the case above, student A will now be ranked 1st with 50/60 marks and student B 2nd with 41/60
