Just a quick question, is the light-sensitive pigment in cones in the eye photopsin or iodopsin? This is for the communication option topic and different sources say different things so I just need to clarify. Thanks for any help.

Rods = Rhodopsin (both begin with R)
Cones = Iodopsin and there are 3 types red, blue and green.

That is all that you need to know for that question.

Read the question carefully it says that those colours are the F2 generation so you have to work backwards with two punnet squares in order to get the parents.

So the F1 generation would be RY and RY so that an orange colour can be achieved in the F2. Hence the parents will have to be RR and YY so that the F1 is RY and RY hence the answer is C.

The number of plants is just there to tell you that there is a co-dominant species being produced and naturally there will be more as they have a larger chance of being produces 50% compared to 25% of only yellow or red.

And it depends if you would lose a mark for saying photopsin as the marking criteria may differ for each exam.
