I always get a little confused when integrating fractions:
(sorry i can't latex, but you get my gist)

(indefinite integral sign) (x^2 -1)/sqrtx dx

Do you mean as in: (x+1)(x-1) then find the primitive.
or find the primitive of x^2 and -1 separately and subtract them?

He means break up the integral into parts.

i.e. x^2/root x - 1/root x.

Right carrot?
