Using the "Glossary of words":

Discuss means identify issues and provide points for and/or against

Using my head i think it is: advantages, disadvantages and evaluation

Which is right?

No judgement needed.

Identify/Outline (one word or one line answer for 1 or 2 marks) --> Describe (extended version of outline giving more information for 3/4 marks) ---> Advantages ---> Disadvantages.

If it was assess, add a judgement on the end.

oh nice thanks!

So just to clarify my understanding, if i see a question like: Discuss the potential of cellulose as a raw material in the production of petrochemicals.

I just write adv + disadv and im good for full marks?

AND if i see assess, i go with adv + disadv + judgement

Nah you defs need to identify and describe the issue first.

So identify would simply be stating something simple like "Cellulose has a strong potential as a raw material."

Describe: What does the petrochemical industry produce? Draw a structural formula/give an equation of production of Cellulose and quickly explain it, followed by a description of what features make Cellulose similar to the fuels/polymers from the petrochem. industry. Also state that cellulose is a main component of biomass (iirc 50%) and thus it's readily available, renewable, and environmentally viable.

Then I guess 2-4 advantages and 2-4 disadvantages depending on amount of marks. Put them in a table preferably.

Done :)
