I just think certain individuals (read: rap artists) do more damage when they try and get in on the "cause". It's just another thing that Bush's supporters can use against all those who don't support him, which is really the last thing they need. If you were a politician, wouldn't you rather your supporters had a relatively clean record and good public image?

At the YAPA Making Waves conference their was an anti-howard type band. Now, I appreciate music, and I would have stayed even though they where paying out Howard, however, they where the worst band I have ever heard in my life! They were absolutely crap! They had an hour to perform, but they got "boo'ed of in 20 minutes! Quite funny!

In his earlier years maybe things were not accurate, but now days Chuck D is turning out to be a very important figure in HipHop, politics and black movement. He also goes to univerisities to do speaches in the US.

There also many other older rappers from the conscious era who are becoming very influential and promoting healthy and conscious life styles for Blacks in the US.
