Can you recommend a few headphones/headsets that are $30 or cheaper and preferably won't break in the first month, thanks!

Closed headphones although i wouldn't mind headsets. These are just for use at home so I don't really care about the appearance factor

Tbh at 30 dollars you're just not going to find headphones which are both sturdy and have decent sound quality

If you aren't in a rush then wait for CatchoftheDay as they often have Sennheisers and other brands for cheap which will be better than your Apple buds.

I have the Solo HD and you can hear the difference between the two- I'm surprised you didn't spend that little bit more to get the HD. Whether they are worth the price is one thing, but I'm pretty happy with them.
