Well I'm not sure about your schools, but my school asked a couple of us if we wanted textbooks on our graduation day, & it was purely your choice if you wanted them or not.

As Mathematics, head to the Mathematics part in HSC section of BoS.

Cambridge + Advanced Learning Series ones are quite good in both explaining + practise.

- chemistry contexts 1 [ not sure of what edition, but it has sparks or something on the front ]
- excel prelim chem - from what i see now, ITS CRAP
- & conquering chem. 3rd ed.

physics:

- jacaranda physics prelim course book1
- & excel prelim physics

Chemistry Contexts: It's quite good at explaining details in emphasis, but its not really motivating and exciting to read. If i remember correctly, isn't it black and white?

Excel: Stuff Excel stuff UNLESS if they're past papers.

Conquering Chem: This is usually the core textbook used by most schools. Information is straightforward....and somewhat explains things longwindedly. SpotLight Chemistry Prelim & HSC are great books as supplements.

Jacaranda Physics (Prelim & HSC) : Although it's a core text used by schools, its great for understanding concepts since it has a Page-to-syllabus contents.

Except for the Mathematic's ones

try Dymocks - it's a reliable bookshop that always has the textbooks that I need

For Legal Studies, most people say that heinemann is good

Oops, actually missed the second bit. Sorry. I want to do Commerce/Veterniary Science @ UNSW. I really hope the 2007 UNSW Commerce drama happens in my year of selecting courses as well, lol

The UAI requirement for both are quite high, but I will try my best
