Hi!

Does anyone know how to reference a archaeological source? I have to reference a water tower in Herculaneum and an inscription on that water tower.

Thanks

The number one rule of referencing archaeological sources is to NEVER JUST CHUCK THEM IN THERE. The source needs to be there for a purpose, not just to show that you know a source.
So in your case,
"The excavations of a water tower and an accompanying inscription demonstrate the advanced plumbing and sewage system that allowed (insert something that links to your own thesis here) i.e if you were doing an essay about health :herculaneum to maintain a high standard of healthcare in the ancient world"
