Do you guys think that Nineteen Eighty-Four would be a suitable related text for Belonging? (core text is The Crucible)

Thanks in advance.

Don't do Standard so I'm not sure. All I know the Crucible is some play. Sorry :p

I think Nineteen Eighty-Four is an Orwell novel right? Sounds good :)

just be careful, coz every teacher would know the text.

And it used to be on the HSC Syllabus in 2008. :)

The Last Spin is heavily overused - not so much for Belonging, but for Module C - Conflicting Perspectives.

thanks for the replies.

so is it worth sticking with 1984 or is it better finding a new related text (novel, ofc)?

do they really frown upon using texts from 08 HSC?

thanks again.

Um, I think they would. You're better off finding a new related text. Try "Things Fall Apart". It's shorter, and easier to read than 1984. I used it as a related text, I got 95 in Adv English.
