I used two pages from the V for Vendetta graphic novel by Alan Moore. I thought it worked well for themes and it was interesting to analyse and compare as a visual text.I need some help on finding a related text for 1984.
It would be nice if it were a short story.
Yep we did the lives of others as a film study in Yr10, it has a lot of similar themes on oppression, surveillance etcThis is something I recommended to another student on here:
'I would recommend poetry, film, performance poetry, essays etc. That being said, any Murakami text is a stellar suggestion for the novel route. Consider even looking into the play form.
Amiri Baraka has some great performance poetry. Looking into Foucault's works (especially on the 'panopticon') could be an interesting link too. Consider articles too. Will Self is a wacky journalist.
My related text was 'The Lives of Others', a German film. Also another great one.'
Hope this helps! : )
