Related texts for Changing Self? (1 Viewer)

[Metamporphosis]

Alright, our core text is The Turning and we can use any story from that book to base our related texts on... I've got two related texts already and we have an assessment in two weeks and I fear that one of them might be too weak to write an essay about.

My two related texts are:
Across The Nightingale Floor - Lian Hearn (Novel)
Cats in the Cradle - Harry Chapin (Song)

I was thinking of going for a poem but I don't want to do what everyone else does and use Gwen Harwood because my teacher might be feeling spiteful and not let me use it because it's such a common one.

Any ideas?

im doing the same area of study myself
ive got an assesment too except i have to relate mine back to the play ' away '
ive chosen a novel
and a picture book- which is really hard

but if those two related texts have similar themes then go for it !
