Don't use lyrics. They're only a small part of the complete text (song).

The reason I asked about lyrics was because my teacher told us that it would be easier to use lyrics than it would be to use a piece out of a novel or a movie trailer.

Just because it's easier doesn't mean it's better or even good. You shouldn't be doing parts of texts, you should take the whole thing into account. So a full book, short story, film, play etc.
