at school, we were taught that relationships can only be 1-1 1-m or m-m and m-1 does not exist
however in a past paper m-1 appeared
i assume that this is 1-m but with the entities flipped around?

yes. i guess they mean no primary keys can have m-1 relationships. But yeah if the entities are other way u can JUST KNOW PRIMARY KEYS ONLY 1 WAY RELATIONSHIP
