Risks of Flexible First Year (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone, So i want to do Flexible first Year Engineering next year at UNSW because I still have no idea on what I want to do and I

wanna try out a mix between renewable Energy and Civil. However I heard that you will be disadvantaged if you choose Flexible First

Year? Can someone explain this to me plox? Thanks in advance

If you pick electives from too many sub-disciplines you may end up delaying your graduation. That's all I can think of.

you just pick your major at the end of the year

if you are tossing between renewable energy and civil do SOLA1070 and ENGG1400 as your first year electives

Semester 1:
ENGG1000
PHYS1121/1131
MATH1131/1141
ENGG1811 or COMP1911/1917

Semester 2:
PHYS1221/1231
MATH1231/1241
SOLA1070
ENGG1400

if you want to change to civil, you can do CVEN1300 in the summer school

not even sure what the point is for flexi tbh, unless if you can't transfer to another eng degree with ur wam, which is quite low to begin with

You would be better off picking one and transferring out to the other later on. Flexible is mainly 'useful' if you have no clue at all between 5 different types of engineering.

I think OP wants to do engineering, also one of the 1st year subjects for CS wrecks a lot of people.
