As said before, subjects listed in the sig. I love everything I've chosen, and I think I'll do well at them. (y)

Er, aims. I guess to be placed first in all of them, or at least the top 10. No idea what to do after school, but I'd like a 90-95+ ATAR.

/Prelim 2010 ftw

Heys, Subjects are in signature but i'll jst repeat it anyways. LOLS.

Ext 1. English ( Prob drop it in year 12 but i wanna have a go and see how i go also if i made in the Adv.english class in the first place)
Ext 1.Maths
Mathematics
Advance English ( If i made it into the class )
Economics (i'll see if how it goes also)
Chemistry
Physics
Modern History

In year 12 i may drop ext. english or economics for ext.history! Aiming for at least top 5 in everything and hopefully topping at least almost all of them. Im REALLY hoping for 95 ATAR and band 6s. Which is prob really rare in my school which is the bottom 30 in the state 2 years ago and band 6s is really rare in my school. Also as the dux of my grade. Hellooooooo Prelim 2010!

hi five for no ext maths :)
*gives another hi five*

I'm not doing extension maths either ... or any extensions! I chose my favourite subject, Kitchen Operations (better know as Hospitality - Kitchen Operations) over extensions. And despite hospo's history of poor scaling, I am proud that I was not pressured into doing an extension I was capable of yet uninterested in, ie maths ext (I wanted to do eng ext, can't have the best of both worlds but).

My subjects are in the sig. Advanced English, Mathematics, Bio, Hospitality (Kitchen Operations), Italian Continuers, PDHPE and Studies of Religion I (the "pain in my arse from sitting on crappy plastic listening to a drone on sex ethics" subject).

I aim to become fluent in Italian on the completion of the HSC. My SC Italian teacher said this normally requires a Band 5-Band 6 and an overseas trip to Italy is highly recommended (total immersion in a language rapidly increases the language learning process...).

I also aim to complete a Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations), which requires that I take a third extension/specialisation unit of Hospitality in Yr 12. Shouldn't be too difficult. And I get to do a 70 hour (2 full-time working weeks) work placement in a commercial kitchen (it has been Lusso's Rouse Hill in the past...)

Quite apart from the above vocational goals, I have chosen Mathematics, Biology and PDHPE because I wish to have a shot at UWS medicine... second is occupational therapy (USYD), then physio (USYD or UWS), finally UTS combined nursing + international studies (Italy) is last.

And if all else fails, and I end up working a job I hate, I plan to save up enough money to fulfill my ambition to live a primitive life free of money, desire and hence free of suffering on an island in the South-west Pacific. Although I would only do this if I had some other loaded "crazy" friends and/or family ... :)

thats good :):) looks like you have a life sorted out. i'm planning to do either b asia pacific studies/law @ anu or b information tech/law @ anu.
i'm trying to apply for all the law courses i can, with different atar cutoffs and at different unis.. year 12 isn't that far away.. i mean every year has gone really quick.

my parents really don't want me to move to anu because its so far away and expensive to lvie on campus :s

i want to do b asia-pacific studies because i need to learn chinese. i am chinese and can't write or read well.. so ill need it.
also, learning another language broadens your career path =p

its good that you have a science, tafe course and an essay based subject for prelim and hsc :) basically, your subjects are varied, which is awesome :)

Hey there ! Yeah i also want to go into law into ANU. I really just want to be more independent and less controlled by my mum aswell as start a new social life for my self! Same here my mum doesn't want me to go down to Canberra to study but i just want to be more responsible for myself i guess. So Yay, if i do get in i'll know someone in laws class in 2 years!

Hey i think if you wanted to asia-pacific studies you'd have to study another language then chinese because they wont let you do your own country for some reason. I dunno maybe i read it wrong but i think thats what they said in the booklet. Also atm im e-mailing questions to this women about atar and stuff so e-mail them at admiss.enq@anu.edu.au and they'll answer anything you ask. Their really helpful !

And you might want to consider the unitest when were in year 12 where its a test which gives you up to 5 bonus points for your degree but its this test where you cant really study for it and also you'd have to travel all the way to Canberra at ANU to do the test. Thats what im planning to do.

So yeah HOPEFULLY i'll see in my law class in 2 years ( That if i get that 95 ATAR :chainsaw: )

Oh thanks for all the info ! :) Damnit, but would it count because i don't speak chinese fluently at home etc..
Whats the unitest? I'll probably look it up later. Also - for bonus points.. i SHOULD be apply for bonus points anyways since i only got diagnosed with adhd in late year 8, so it has affected my studies a lot.
But thanks for the info i'll email them :]

jeshxcore and itzen, you two sound like you've got your future plans all sorted out. i have no idea what i wanna do. :(
Aw, well all you have to do is just do a lot of research on courses. But it was different for me, since i've liked courtrooms and stuff since i was 7-8 *watching judge judy hahahaha*
and then i realised this year in commerce, when we did legal.. it just came to me naturally..
i also did work experience at a law firm this year :)

so yeah..
i know that legal studies will be very diffeent next year, but i also love making constructive essays about arguments.. so basically i like debate as well haha :)

Search for courses at participating institutions - UAC undergraduate website go there to search for courses, unis and atar cutoffs :)
and browse around looking for info about unis. one reason why i want to move to anu is because it ranks better than usyd (and usyd is 99.55 or something to get into law....)

Same here i started to like legal issues when i did it in commerce. I found it interesting as well i find politics just amazing to read about. Though i cant do legal studies because it clashes with my other favorite subject which is modern history. So i chose modern because its the more chance i'll get a band 6 in. Yeah i wanted to do law@ANU because since its 95ATAR i'll MIGHT have a chance to get into then UNSW OR USYD. Also since its in the center of lots of government based institutions and many graduates get employed by the government.
