Ok so i have a test on monday and just doing a few essay plans. The Question is How significant was military victory in the Civil War for the Bolshevik consolidation of power in the period up to 1924?

Thesis: The October revolution of 1917 up until 1924, was an vital period for Bolshevik consolidation of power, with the victory in the Civil War acting as a essential vehicle for defeating internal and foreign threats to the newly established Socialist Revolution and Government.

tad late, i know, but better late than never. using the civil war as a vehicle for consolidation of bolshevik power is a good idea but in my opinion it's restricting your thesis focusing just on that. there are other factors such as winning the vote of the peasants etc. think about the whole trotsky train thing. depending on the person marking and the depth to which you explore that thesis it can do well but you'd do well to look out for a couple of other things for a question like that and the trotsky train is only one of them.
