Went to UTS library today to get Sopranos on the Couch because even though I've finihsed there was something I wanted to redo. Looked at that book and made a couple of notes on some more. Came home typed them out and now I'm looking at how I can enhance my MW through using them.

Gave my Major work to my adv and ext2 teacher and basically anyone else who would look at it today and I am half looking forward too and half dreading the feedback. Also updated my my neglected journal today.

Ah, good work everyone! It's great to hear that more of you have finished your first full drafts and are just refinining and polishing :) For those that haven't, just keep on truckin' - provided you continue working consistently, all will be well. :)

Keep up the good work!

dude, that's scary! Do something fast or you'll get fucked over trying to cut it down. HURRY!

Progress- wrote a couple of hundred words and gave my major work a new title. I'm currently working on a new character name.

Well my panic attack is over for now, i cut it down to 11000 words, but i need to flesh it out a bit still, so im gunna have to cut out a fair bit more still, or just rework it so it's shorter.

Holidays Progress:
During the first week, this was at 1200.
During the second week it was at 1200.
During the first half of the third week it was 3600. I also dropped the other story I was working on.
During the second half of the third week it was 3900.

In the next two days it needs to be at 6500. I don't feel like writing though. :/

-Got to 6000
-Cut 1000 in editing (and all-round crappy writing)
-Crawled back up to 6000
-Major structure changes - now three [collection of] short stories.
-Major thematic changes
-All round a much better product.

I'm only at 4600. I have no excuses, but I did write 600 words today.

As it turns out, I'm one of those people.

From July 31 I was...
<table border='0' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='5'><tr><td><table border='0' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0'><tr><td><img src='http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter/pel_gr.gif' width='6' height='22' border='0'><a href='http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter'><img src='http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter/pk_gr.gif' width='100' height='22' border='0' alt='Zokutou word meter'></a><img src='http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter/per2_gr.gif' width='6' height='22' border='0'></td></tr><tr><td><div align='center'><b>8,250</b> / 8,000<br>(103.0%)</div></td></tr></table></td></tr></table>

- cutting down slowly, painfully. It's just a small amount over, but there's nothing HUGE that I can cut out - therefore I have to pick through the MW with a nit comb

You should get away with being just a little over anyway. Not like they're gonna count every word out, you should be fine :)

Meanwhile I'm on 5000 words..

Damn you short story writers! It's so easy for you guys - you just get to click wordcount :(

I'm still really unsure how my script times. And I have timed it and it fluctuates a lot cause I have a large number of pauses, which can vary depending on an actor's / director's / marker's interpretation. The 1 page = 1 minute convention is absolute arse, I gotta say. Also, it doesn't help that at the EE2 day at Newtown earlier in the year, the scripts guy said a huge number of major works had trouble fitting in 20-30 minutes, with some twice that :S

Haven't started reflection statement yet either, but I'm fleshing it out in my head.

Good luck all!

Yeah, gorgo, you have rekindled my worrying about time limit. If mine were anything other than ontime, it would be overtime... oh well. Staged reading time! Mum, Dad, Brother 1, brother 2, here are your scripts!

yesterday i finished. my society and culture teacher (yes, not my ee2 teacher coz she is feedback-less) told me to put it to rest. she said it was "evocative" and she studied english at uni with honours so i'll just take her word for it and feel safe.

this ee2 major has helped me maintain my sanity. now that its finished i can feel my eye twitching and im chewing my lip and swearing at my dog and listening to the stranglers and. and. and.
