I don't think school captaincy should be taken lightly, and you shouldn't vote for someone just because you like them as a person. At my school, we don't have these nomination speeches. Anyone who has successfully become a prefect can nominate for college captain and the votes are taken, however it is ultimately the executive who decides who becomes captain.

At my school, it's the prefects who vote for the captain and -yay!- there's no speech involved. My Deputy did say, however, that in spite of having the grade vote for the prefects they will also intervene.

That is so true. Nominations were today at roll call and a lot of people were going: 'Yvonne? Who's that?' and then I'm like, 'Yeah thanks, I've only been in your roll call for 4 years'.

My year is pretty competitive.

We only have 10 places for 150 people.

I only got through top 20 stage.

It's basically 1/2 chance now, lol.

12 spots.

30 applied.

17 got through to the 1st round.

12 will get through to be real prefects.

Haha. It was in the middle of all these nguyens =0. I found it in the end though x). Yeah the blazers are pretty hectic, so's the tie =).

Hope you guys make it too . From what I've read, your prefect uniform is pretty awesome too x).

Your prefect uniform is rad!

My one makes us look like a private school. The girls wear skirts, ties, a straw boater with ribbons and our school emblem, a blazer and a badge. Awesomeness.

At my school it's:

160 students.

12 spots.

30 applied.

17 got through to the 1st round.

12 will get through to be real prefects.

At our school, we don't apply. Everyone is basically in. Year Coordinator basically takes the 20 most popular kids based on votes that were taken at Mass because this voting is considered holy and important, lol.

And we already did the 2nd voting, I am not sure about the result.
