its been 2 months already and all i know is a few ppls names! im finding it realy hard to make new friends.. and i actually mean friends.. i dont think ive met someone id go out with or call up on the fone or wateva.. like no one that could progress into being a friend... i find that there isnt much time to socialise and the atmosphere at UTS isnt that great.. someone told me that UTS had the best social life, lol, i um disagree with that totally!! haha.. maybe its just me and no one likes wat they see (in those 5 or so minutes) or maybe its just going to take a very long time to finally get to know people.. theres only so much that can be done in 5 minutes once or twice a week!

Try and get to your lectures a bit early so you can have a chat with people before class starts, same for your tutes. That might help a bit.

I think you have to give it time though.... it's just like when you start anything new.

Ive forgotten more names than I've remembered since uni started... and I'm only doin business anyway so I'm only in city twice a week... not that much time for socialising really. I go to uni with about 8 or 9 people from my HS anyway so I guess I'm not really all that active in lookin for new friends

I was lucky in this area because I did a bridging course, and you're really forced to talk to the people around you (it helps that you see them all day, every day for two weeks).

i keep in touch with my very close friends and for those who aren't i have casual conversations with them if i see them. the uni people are cool because they are more fun but i doubt i'll keep them all as i drift from one group to another. uni's mad, i met my gf here.

Ive found that UTS students are snobby! Is it because you tell them your from Cabramatta or the south west? or is it because of the image and location which gives UTS students a UP THEMSELVES feeling that they are all that? hehe but then again, there are some good people you meet at uni, not all are snobs.
