How can you know my school is rubbish just by its ranking?
You've never been to it, experienced the immense sense of family and community pride, never been in classroom with me and my friends who dominate the top five positions in every subject. You've never felt a part of what I have, a school that, when your boyfriend dies mid way through your HSC, rallies around you and your family, send their prefect body out on search parties when hes still lost at sea, brings their classes to your home so its easier on you, I could go on and on and on about how my school is anything but rubbish, but, hey, whatever.
Yeah i agree, a 'good' school should be judged on more than just its academics. I come from a school that's always in the top 20 or 30, but i feel it has a lot more to offer than just good marks and i really don't like the way schools are ranked each year. btw, sonyaleeisapixi, your school sounds awesome whatever its ranking

Oo... Hurlstone. I only know one person from there and I haven't talked to her since primary school.

Nope, we weren't highest ranked.
Muhahahaha, I bet that we're going to own you for 2008 but get owned in 2009.

And why does North Sydney have such a sucky reputation compared to Sydney? :(

I hate how people make school rankings a fucking pissing competition.
I happen to attend a school ranked 464th, a public school, because, hey, I cant afford catholic private enducation, the only other option in my town.
I could board at NEGS (New England Girls School), but I dont want to be away from my family, particularly my grandpa, because he had a stroke a few year back, and I visit him every other afternoon, a routine I'd rather swallow razor blades then break just to go to a higher ranked school.
If I lived in Sydney, I'd probably be at a selective school. I don't, so I'm not. Whatever.
The fact that my school is 464th, does not mean I can't get the 90+ UAI I want. It does mean my schools facilities are shit, but as Ive said, I wouldnt swap my school for anything. Its amazing.

Its not a pissing competition. gtfoverit.

Dunno. Maybe because they get overshadowed by their sister school every year. Then again, SBHS gets overshadowed by SGHS every second year. :p

We'll see about your predictions for 2008-2009. I think our grade has a few extremely smart and dedicated people, but I'm not so sure about the '08ers. Then again, our grade fucked up the School Certificate really badly - apparently it was the worst result for the SC in about 8 years. We got hauled in front of the Principal, and received a major telling off. :p
