Yes. It applied to my school. You had to get A10 or A9 to be placed in Mathematics Extension 1 class. And you had to get at least C in Science to get into Biology and B for Physics and Biology, I think.

English Advanced: A or B
Maths Ext 1 : A or high B
Chem and Physics: A or B
PLUS A or B in Maths

At my school, it's something simular:
English Advanced: A or B 9and you have to be in the advanced classes in Year 10)
Maths (2U) - Minimum of a B in maths I think (we only have 1 2U class)
Maths Ext. 1 - You have to get A or B and over 85 in SC I think (funny enough we have 2 classes)
Physics/Chem - A in science

wow, i'm surprised with how many requirements some schools set for subjects. at my school, they don't have any requirements, just some recommendations when it comes to marks:
english advanced: recommends 75% or higher.
english extension: recommends 80% or higher & also HOD approval.
maths: should be doing advanced maths. anyone who isn't needs HOD approval.
maths extension: need HOD approval.
physics: should be doing advanced maths.

oh thats nice :D

Kinda scary how people do six units of science but then again, I guess that is their favourite subjects. I wish I had a passion for physics but I really dont. My science teacher(one of the four I had since year 7) insists me to do so but meh. No passion for subject = killing yourself If you do it :D
lol...i do 6units of Science ie. Physics, Biology, Chemistry.
Only Physics and Chemistry are hard...Biology is too easy.

lol.....imagine the people doing 5 units of history....thats crazy....even more crazy than 6u of sciences...
Really? I have 8 friends at school who do it and they just love it! (I mean, they are doing 4 Units of History at the moment but they will do 5 Unit next year)

I cannot imagine myself doing 6 Units of Science. I would rather do 6 Units of Commerce.

lol....what about 4u english + 4u maths +another course....that'd be pretty hard i reckon to do all in the same year....but i guess some people do it...
I dont think you can do that because you need at least 4 different subjects, so you'd have to do another 2 unit subject as well
