Marks are primarily used for cut-off or differentiation purposes.
For example, if you're a recruitment manager who has to screen 500 applications, the most logical basis of screening is to institute a mark cutoff than to read through 500 resumes.
On the other hand, applicants can use marks as a point of differentiation vs. other applicants. If you have an HD average you are more gifted academically than others.
not necessarily. if the person is motivated, than that shows he should be able to transfer those skills into the workforce. Furthermore, this isn't high school, where rote learning gives you high marks.
