Speaking of smells, (as someone mentioned above) I love the mustiness of Fisher. There's something so comforting and 70s about it. And you can smell it from like 10 metres away from the entrance.
HAHAHA. I know what you mean. And the higher up you get in the Research Library, the more musty and comforting it is.

All of it is going to be a pedestrian route as per the Campus 2010+ program. I've written an article on it for the Bull coming out tomorrow. Feel free to pick one up and have a read :)

Yeah to prepare for the new law building.
No, to make the campus more pedestrian oriented, functional and newish much like UNSW. That's not a good thing.

New law building design sucks balls too. No better way to make a building fit into its surrounds than by making it look way out of place next to Fisher, Carslaw and the chemistry building. When the education building was built, they made sure it fitted in quite well with its surroundings. Can't say the same for the new law building, by the looks of things.

No, it's to make the campus more pedestrian oriented, modernish and 2010+ish. If they were converting Eastern Ave into the promenade for the new law building only, then it would be an absolutely useless. The volume of student traffic through there would be mind numbingly low, at best it'll look like an out of place building connected to a redone avenue, not vica versa.

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!

OH. MY. GOD.

There are so many loonies at uni, seriously. Or maybe they just all surface whenever a politician visits.

I just came home from the talk that Bob Carr gave tonight about Australia, the US and the Worst President in History and some of the people that asked questions...

"Do you agree this is a massive conspiracy that the British have been implementing to destroy America since the fall of the British Empire?"

"Are you anti-human?!"

"Al Gore is a historical non-entity and doesn't know anything about climate change. What is your opinion on nuclear energy?"

I was so embarassed. I mean, I'm all for alternative thought, but these guys were bordering on fanaticism. And because of their time wasting, so many people who had really good questions to ask didn't get to ask them...

I was planning on actually attending that, but I didn't really wanna hang around for three hours so I didn't. Apart from the aforementioned douchebags, was it any good?

Did anyone see those posters with something about Michael Kirby on 'em today, or otherwise know anything about them? If he's giving a speech or something then I'd love to go, seeing as I didn't go to the one last year at UNSW. :(

anyone?

:( I hate the Discipline of Accounting. They are tres gh3y. So much for releasing results at 5pm and not realising that 1000 students logging on at once would screw up the servers. Now we may not get them until tomorrow. I so wanted to get them :( *cuts*
