Hello!

Q: A ball is dropped from a height of 12m. On the first rebound, it rises to a height of 10m. At subsequent rebounds it rises to a height equal to 5/6 of that which it previously attained. Calculate the total distance through which the ball moves before coming to rest.

Thank you :)

The answer says 132m, but what you got was also my conclusion so either we're both wrong or the answer's wrong. I'm more-so leaning to the latter.

The answer is correct.

pokka - you forgot the flight up.

First journey down: 12m
UP: 10m
BACK DOWN: 10m
UP: (5/6)10 m
BACK DOWN: (5/6)10m
UP: (5/6)^2 (10)m ...

so
