I have Biology and IPT on the same day (19/10). I wrote a letter to the BOS expressing my concerns and persuading them to change the exams to two different days. I know there's a lot of other people also doing IPT and Biology. I also encourage you all to write to the board so that they shift the date to some other day. Note: This has not happend before but theres no harm in having a go. If enough students from different schools complaint about Bio and IPT, then the board has to serve justice for all and maybe they will change the date for the HSC exam concerning IPT and Biology. Both these subjects are extensively theory based and 3hrs each. This serves a disadvantage to those students doing both these exams on the day.

English Adv Paper 2: 17/10
Biology and IPT: 19/10
Maths: 22/10
Chemistry: 06/11

I'd say a good timetable if you discard the date for Biology and IPT. I have atleast a day off between all my exams and have been given a solid amount of time for Chemistry. However, two exams on the same day means more pressure and less likely of getting a Band 6 in both the subjects.

I also do Information Technology VET. The exam is most likely going to be between Mathematics and Chemistry. If anyone knows the exam date for Information Technology, please post it here!

Not too bad. I guess the ext1 maths exam being before business studies is annoying but I'm just glad I don't have any clashes. Hopefully I'll manage my time effectively and ace this hsc!!

I have SORII & Japanese Continuers on the same day. Japanese is a listening & written exam. I manned up and everyone who does Biology & IPT should man up as well.

I'm not that desperate, the point was to express my concerns for these exams. I believe SORII (Studies of Religion) and Japanese Continues exams are not as hard as Bio and IPT on the same day. Both exams are 3 hrs each (adding to 6 hrs of extensive writing and thinking on the day), where else SOR and JC don't add to 6 hrs. Thus people who do these exams would end up having RSI at the end of the day :(
Last year it was IPT and English Paper 2, this was a good combination as opposed to this year as English Paper II is 2 hrs and IPT is 3 hrs (5 hrs in a day). Also this means that there is a greater gap or break between the two exams.

This year Biology exam starts at: 9.35 am and finishes at 12.35 pm
IPT- 1.35 pm - 4.35 pm
This means that there is only 1 hr break between the exams (probably less for some schools due to the increased time to geting out of the examination centre or hall).

But, overall we all should be ready and "manned up" as we wouldn't study at the last minute anyway. The right thing to do would be to stay calm and confident. So in that regards, I'd like to apologise for my last comment. I guess I was really angry and concerned for my HSC as I thought that this would make a big difference in achivement.

Don't wanna be mean but deal with it. Lots of people do both Legal Studies and Physics or whatever other subject combination that happens to occur on the same day. It just happens.

I assume you don't do a language right? If you don't know how hard Japanese Continuers is, do a past paper for me and I want to see you get 100%. Both of my exams are three hours as well. There was a past student who only had 10 min break between her exams due to special provisions and she did extremely well in the HSC. So please stop complaining that you only have an hour break. At least it's an hour and not like the example I just gave you. Be appreciative that you get a sufficient break - go to the toilet, have a drink or something to eat, revise lightly. But think about other students in the state that have special provisions and have less than an hour to prepare for their next exam.

You shouldn't be concerned about your HSC, in the end you can't do anything about the marks, at least you tried and actually got your HSC.
