These are questions 23 and 24 of page 114 in fitzpatrick
I really dont know where to start:
23) Assume that the tides rise and fall in SHM. A ship needs 10 metres of water to pass down a channel safely. At low tide the chanel is 9m deep and at high tide 12m deep. Low tide is at 9am and high tide at 4pm. At what time can the ship safely proceed? answer: Between 11:44 am and 8:16 pm
24) Assume that over several days of constant weather the cycle of temperatures each day is S.H. between 13 degrees celcius at 4am and 23 degrees celcius at 4pm. At what times of the day would the temperature be:
a)18 degrees celcius b)15 degrees celcius c) 21 degrees celcius
answer: a)10am b)7:33am c) 12:27 pm
