Do all HSC students at Shoalhaven High School get extra bonus marks on their UAI because they attended a disadvantaged school or something like that?
Just wondering coz local catholic school parents say so
Thanks

what is the reason?
i don't see any way in which it's disadvantaged?

and it's not a UAI bonus. it's a lowering of the entry requirements for uni

There is this category call PSFP school or isolated schools where you can apply for EAS. If Shaolhaven high is part of one of those category then your EAS is automatic, you don't need to do anything else and you will get the bonus.

exactly, i hate it when people say "i got 93.xx, but with the bonus points that makes it 98.xx"

they don't understand the system...

It's important to note that "bonus" UAI is not actually added on to your UAI.

As suggested above, it just increases the applicant's ability to get into the desired course.

Thank you respondents.

It appears that since Shoalhaven High is a PSP - Priority Schools Funding Program - school for 2008 and 2009 (for, I believe, socio-economic reasons) then any student of that school will automatically receive a lower entry requirement for university. This is not a bonus actually added to the student's UAI.

Does this seem correct?

Thanks again
