I like it a bit, but then I dont if you know what I mean :

Positives:
- I like helping people, so I do enjoy that side of it.
- Good revision for me.
- Thought I could use it on my resume and to possibly get other students ( however, I would think that doing it for one year would look pretty much the same in an employers eyes as it would if I were to do it for 5 years, and its obvious it didnt kinda work to get any students , so yeah).

Negatives:
- In my opinion the student that I am tutoring doesnt really show that much ( if any ) appreciation for the time I give up.
- University is getting busy/harder in the later years (EDIT: I also need a means of getting some money as my current job doesnt get alot of shifts ).
- The student I am tutoring also does paided tutoring as well as the free stuff with me :( , and most of the work we go through is just some exercise out of cambridge that the tutor he is paying has just photocopied. ( I thought they had to actually be in a position to not afford paid tutoring to get access to free tutoring ).

I'd give it up then. It seems like it's benefits have been used up, and it's kind of a drain now.

turns out that you cant even ( technically ) call it "experience" because it wasnt paid. Yeh I will most likely not bother bout next year, if the person couldnt afford tutoring then I would reconsider, but he does pay someone else. \

It is a tad irritating when he gets work from the paid tutor and then comes to me to go through it, like honestly he might as well just sack the current guy he is paying and pay me, he cant be too good if all he does it photocopy stuff out of cambridge lol.

Study hard for your Engg course and get a good degree.
Well that wasnt exactly my number 1 priority , and there is a pretty good chance that I wont actually study anymore than I used to when I was doing it. I do get reasonable marks ( sitting on 72WAM as it stands , which imo is pretty good considering I have had two pain in the ass computing courses take it down a fair bit ) currently, yes they could be better.

I dont know, some people seem to think that uni marks is a criteria for a good tutor , and there are tons of people on here trumping the fact that they have HD WAMS , does that actually get students to tutor? Yes, I understand you want to know that the person hasnt completely lost the plot and went from 99+ATAR to failing uni subjects , but does it really matter all that much? One would think that your ability to tutor hsc maths would be in your hsc maths marks, not ( so much ) your uni marks.

But yes, will most likely stop doing it , looks like theres a pretty good chance that I am doing it in vain and I have quite possibly just alerted people to the free tutoring so now people are going to be cheap and go there where they dont have to pay a cent.

What do you mean by voluntary tutoring? Are you helping your friends out or something?
