SHOULD I DO PAST PAPER QUESTIONS IN A BOOK? (1 Viewer)

So I have collected questions on a particular topic from THSC (for maths) so I was just wondering what would be the most effective way to go about solving them?

1. Copying them into a book and solving them

2. Not copying them, but solving them in a book

3. Pasting the questions into a digital whiteboard and solving it using a trackpad

I'd probably go with 2), but add a few extra amendments to it.

Copying the question just waste unnecessary time you could use to practice more questions. However, saying that, you definitely need to make a note of what question you're answering. So what I would do is at the beginning of each question, make a note of the school, year and question number. Then save the exams in separate folders however you want to (school, year, question number). That way, if you want to refer to the question again, you can access it very easily.

iPad probably works the best for keeping everything together

if not just use regular book. don't copy qs, too much time. maybe for corrections if you're very eager.

Limit the screen time, not everything needs to be electronic.

Yeah it's like a device you can connect to your laptop and you can write on the pad

I'd actually suggest copying the question and then answering underneath.

If the question is too long just summarise it.

Yea that's what I normally do but it takes quite a bit of time

I believe its worth it, and much easier to look back on.

Like we were doing sequences and series recently, and instead of writing

What is the 9th term of the sequence "1, 2, 4, … "

Just write "1, 2, 4 ... T_9"

I'm doing perms and combs so any idea how to cut those kinda questions down? Here's an example:

Pull out the basic information

(a) 30 students in ME1. How many ways can a class of 10 be formed?

For some things like trig etc. ofc you'll have to write the full question, but I like doing it this way

Like with what @ssoans mentioned, you can definitely do it for the rest of the questions.

(b) 80 swimmers; arrange bronze, silver and gold

(c) EQUATIONS; no. of ways but no adjacent vowels

(d) Choose 6 girls from 10; 2 girls can't be together

Most of the information is usually background information which doesn't bring any meaning to the question
