because i usually do shit in these two

in my Half yearlies i got 58% in Biology and 53% in PDHPE

Well which one out of the two do you enjoy more? You should also check out the Yr 12 syllabus too.

well i enjoy pdhpe obviously

i mean during biology

it is absolutely impossible 2 concentrate on wat the teacher is teaching

i jst dose off, at the end, dont learn a thing. especially wen we have 2 straight periods of biology, the time doesnt seem to move:S

but then during pdhpe

its a bludge, the teacher gives us most of the answers, and lyk biology, dont learn anything-.-

far i need help

From personal experience I'd reckon that if Biology makes you that disinterested in it, then you should drop it - and this goes for any subject.
If you're not interested, you'll be apathetic and not apply yourself = Fail.

Besides, in PDHPE you get practical lessons so you can at least stay fit.
You'll realise that closer to the HSC, you'll have no time to work out and stuff.

Each of the sciences has a Practical component which is assessable, i.e Prac Exam.
I guess if you drop Biology you'll have one less Prac exam to worry about.

Since you say you're doing "shit" in PDHPE and Biology, I'll assume you're doing okayish in everything else. If that's the case, you might as well pick up 4U Maths.

Then you'll have 12 units after dropping Biology/PDHPE so you'll have 2 extra backup units.

yeah i was thinking of doing 4U maths

the thing is..my school probably wont offer it

and if they do.. it will be too much of a hassle
3unit already is a hassle

but yeah
dropping two subjects..PDHPE and Biology will take out the hassle of studying them two

im wanting to get into medical btw

any more suggestions?

Drop bio, no point keeping it for no reason, unless you can/want to do better at it, pdhpe scales worse than bio (i think)

This is a question which we really can't answer. It's down to how much you enjoy the subjects, and how those subjects are related to any future careers that you're interested in.

Obviously, a subject that you keep for the HSC year should be something that you're good at, so take the workload of each subject into consideration as well.

I vote you drop PDHPE.
My 18 year old brother did Biology and that was the one that scaled best for him out of all his subjects.
He now goes to UWS and loves it there :p

Drop the subject you feel less confident in. During Year 11, I didn't focus on Biology and I wanted to drop it too. But in year 12 I relied more on myself and made my own notes (but I still don't pay attention in class - haha!), it's one of my favourite subjects now. :)

Do what youre confident in. personally, I'd advocate primarily that you umm. drop PDHPE.. your marks are lower, and hence you may not perform to your maximum potential. though biology scales better. hence keep it!

good luck! wish you ALl the best!! :sun:

Drop the one you enjoy less.
Simple.
However, if you like them both equally...

I don't do PE but they seem like similar-ish subjects in the way you learn them. Lots of content. Basically.

Yr 11 bio is shit, yr 12 looks better.
I think it scales slightly better than PE, but I couldn't be certain.

If you are aiming for med, its not a prerequisite, but I imagine bio would be helpful. The topics next year are more medicine based too, rather than evoluuuution of australia biotaaaa soooo dryyy -___-

Don't pick subject based purely on the teacher, but in your scenario, if your bio teachers really bad and you are stuck with them without them offering you any motivation... Maybe do drop it.

Write a list of pros and cons for each XD

I can only give insight on PDHPE but I have to say that it is a very good subject but there is just SO much content.

The syllabus is getting cut down for next year, but it's still a lot!

Bio scaling is excellent compared to PE so i suggest that you drop PE, especially because your Bio mark is higher.

However, if you really do hate Bio you can always drop it and just ace PE :)

PE can be aced pretty easily, like at my school we get like 60% of the PE studnets get band 6 and like half of those get 95+. my school is ranked like 300 something, so yeh.
