+1... The British thought the aboriginals needed "fixing" and "healing", in relation to their lifestyle and culture. They did not acknowledge them as proper human beings but rather more as animals.

given their understanding of the world at this stage, it is hard to really blame them

they weren't a bunch of white-supremacists thinking "look at this filth we're os much better let's oppress them"

they came form one of the most advanced societies in history and they found these naked people living in the dirt banging sticks together, what do you expect them to think

in fact they were if anything egalitarian, they thought that all humans were equal and so with the right influence they could be just like the British

Aboriginal Australia has one entity to blame for the array of social and economic problems it faces - the retarded government (or more minutely, the retarded politicians who think themselves do-gooders).

Or maybe more specifically, the dodo lefties that thought throwing money at people was a means of emancipation? That welfarism, masquerading as statism if you ask me, was a genuine means of economic and social empowerment.

Moving forward, is the answer more money if socialist retards and their money (or should I say, the tax payers' money) are what have created this state of dependency and entitlement? Hell no it isn't. That's not to say cutting welfare wouldn't entrench the already vast amount of social problems. It would, temporarily. And without a doubt, the left will blame the problems of Aboriginal Australia on a lack of welfare, forgetting that they dug this hole in the first place.

Maybe if Australia stopped politicising every goddamn issue and saw people as people rather than subgroups who need special attention, Aboriginal Australia could find a legitimate identity/ means of contribution..

one of my tutors at uni is of aboriginal descendant... top bloke, incredibly well educated, etc... I have nothing against aborigines... there are degenerates in every kind of culture; example that comes to me is the stereotypical bogan shouting anti asian slurs on the street with his nasally accent (probably caused by all the paint they sniff)...

why cant they just open a bunch of casinos... get us back for all the negative sentiment...

I am quite aware of the rules of this forum so I will restrain myself from releasing the inner kraken and going ballistic on you. Seriously though, the ideologies that you hold and the shit that you spew out of your mouth is an ideal example of the stereotypical Racist Australian, A stereotype we really shouldn't have.

I do agree that we need to stop treating them as if they are different, we should treat them as if they require support and assistance, to get on their feet then treat them like we would any other person. This whole notion of them being studied differently, treated differently and taken care of differently really has to go out the door. Not to mention that we still have blatant segregation and discrimination against them with policies such as "The Intervention".
