I just think it's a big waste of money with very little advantage. The only figures i've seen comparing cost with gain are from Junk Science and it doesn't look good. While i think that it is a problem that needs to be confronted, global warming that is, i just don't see any great benefit that Kyoto will bring.

The Kyoto Protocol is certainly a flawed agreement and it will hardly solve the problem of global warming, but a flawed agreement is better than no agreement and hence we should sign it.

anything that affects individuals should concern the liberals, it's things like this that justify liberal thinkers' criticism of the howard govt deviating from what liberal is supposed to stand for.

Liberal means two different things depending on what country your in, in the US it essentially means leftist, thats why some yanks think that Howard is from the Labour Party.
However in Aust politics Liberal means conservitive

liberal isn't fully conservative, though theres enough to classify it as a liberal-conservative party

extreme conservatives are stuck up idiots

I agree with ohne. It's certainly a very flawed protocol (although alot of the complaints the govt bring up are ridiculous - "it can't be enforced" "countries don't adhere to it anyway" - what the fuck do you think happens to every single UN protocol/treaty that exists?) but it'd be much better if the govt actually proposed something better rather than sitting back and saying that it wouldn't do any good.
