I'm aiming for an atar of 99.95 for USYD MEDICINE
But my school gave me an estimate around 95.
SHOULD I REPEAT?

Here are a couple things to think about...

1. Have you looked at other universities that offer med e.g. UNSW, UWS?

2. Do you believe that the estimate is less than what you can achieve? It is an estimate after all... My estimate was at least 2 atar points off.

3. Have you considered alternate pathways e.g. UNSW Med Sci stream, GAMSAT, UMAT.

4. UMAT and ATAR results combinations that will get you into med courses

yea u should repeat, but remember u can only repeat 6 times, and then you have to leave

You can choose to just repeat a subject by the way.

no, if I were you, don't bother repeating. you could but really, as kwu1 said, look into alternative options as well. personally I would be bored repeating a subject if it wasn't necessary for success (e.g. if I didn't fail it)

If you decide to, I'm pretty sure you'll have to repeat at another school (I suggested the idea to Swan and she said I was crazy). And if your estimate was 95 (even though they were conservative) it's kind of unlikely you'll get .95 seeing as we didn't even get a single one last year.. :L

btw getting into unsw med is no piece of cake people with 99.85 atar 95 umat get rejected....
unsw med=6 yrs usyd=7
and equal prestige....

dont repeat! you won't be as pumped the next year and the estimates were super conservative so you can still pull it up and possibly make it into unsw (provided you pwn umat and interview) :/

If that's your ultimate goal, transfer after a year
