Significant differences in internal/external exams. (1 Viewer)

My case is this.

I went outside the state the day before a 15% geography assessment and had to get zero. SO now it's come back to haunt me and even though I came third (85%) in the trials for that subject, I'm ranked second last with an assesment mark of 60. Does that mean I get the second lowest mark in the externals?

Or by any chance does a real human check up these discrepancies?

Also, if I'm coming first Maths but the rest of the class is quite far behind, how does that affect me?

The penalty remains as that is part of the entire assessment scheme and is designed to reward students who work consistently all year.

You will keep you own external mark.

What internal mark you get will be determined by how far you are above the last place and behind third last. It is not a straight second last exam mark becomes your assessment mark but your assessment mark will be the second lowest assessment mark awarded.

You need to encourage those around you to do really well so that the low marks within your class are high as that will bring your internal mark up and ensure that your own external mark is as high as it can be.

It doesn't affect you at all - if you're ranked first (and not just equal first), you're immune.

Your assessment mark will be set equal to the top exam mark for your school.

Mmm, I'm going to be pulled way way down in both Mathematics and Maths Extension 1 because of my rank which I missed out on first by only a couple percent >_<. (this will probably result in me repeating MX1).

Yes, the differences play a part as well.

In most cases the relative differences between students' moderated assessment marks should be similar to the relative differences between their raw assessment marks.
