Hi. How do display powers and subscripts on this forum?

Example, a^2 and a_2

I cannot find a way to clearly display this - I need someone to check one of my quick mathematics proofs without using much of their effort.

its called LaTeX, a small programme sort of thing built into BOS, can be hard to understand at first but when you get used to it, its simple.

Alternatively, hit 'go advanced'. After that, above the textbox you'll see two buttons which you can use to write a super/sub-script.
