B Computing Science and Technology is a shit course.
you know when you graduate you wont be able to find a job.
Usyd is out of date
they teach old shit that is not required in industry and wasting yo time.
if you wanna do IT, then UTS is the way to go.

peace^

Winston, listen to Dingo... :D

I have to agree here... Usyd in the good universties guide for computers came in the bottom ranks... UNSW, UTS and Wollongong took out the crown for top spots

Is this really true? I don't know, I have it down as my second pref. My dad reckons as long as you have Sydney Uni down as your place of tertiary education, that it doesnt matter. But.. now I'm worried :( lol, I dunno... I really liked the UTS IT faculty, its so new n' shiny n' modern!

So my question would be, what do you guys base the ranks of the better computer science courses? The UAI's received? Or, like, do you have inside info ;)

did it for 2 years getting out of it to do law next year. Honestly I can't see the IT industry recovering any time soon. What dingo said is pretty much right what they teach you is outdated and not much value in the current IT market.

yeah that was a pretty crap subject, I think its changed now different lecture as well. The other IT subjects are by no means easy just doesn't feel worthwhile with the current state IT is in.

i think those subjects (turn on a computer) are the isys ones, basically people do that who arent in the bcst degree to get some computer background, but its a prerequisite for other subjects..

my bro's in third year for bcst, he's mentoring and tutoring this year, also in spok (his name is trevor, hassle him!! :D ) but he says its cool and he likes it, you get some pretty challenging subjects in there
