SHAPES!

Apparently "savoury" shapes exist... and despite eating them at 1AM, I'm not entirely sure what flavour "savoury" is...?

Yum.

My mum makes the best pancakes (I'm not biased...)

I try and imitate them but they never turn out.

One of my best memories of christmas was when my dad and uncle had a pancake cook-off. That was the best XD.

Does your mum have a 'system' in place for the dishing out of pancakes? Lol.

Ahh, that sounds classic.

And no system to speak of. Simply the bowl with the batter>>>frying pan>>>plate where pancakes are stacked.

Do tell of this system of yours.

Dad'll cook te mixture in the pan and slap it on the plate. You then go off and eat that pancake with whatever you want on it.

Dad cooks the next.

Next person up. That person brings their plate up, dad slaps the pancake on and they go off and eat theirs.

Each pancake takes 2-5 minutes.

NEVER wait for a while when the call comes to bring a plate. Daddy don't like that hahaha.

Occasionally dad'll come out to the table hurriedly with pan in hand, shouting "COMING THROUGH!" and put one on whatever plate is empty at the time.

There are alot of little "rules" and "regulations" regarding dad's pancake practise XD.

It's actually quite fun.

My mum is the complete opposite.

Example:

Cousin walks in...7 years old.

Her: Cool! Pancakes! *grabs pancake*

Mum: Don't touch the pancakes! Wait till there is enough there for EVERYONE!

Her: ahh, okay...

AHAHAHAHA

I laugh every single time we have family over for pancakes.

Which is like every single time we have pancakes.

Take that, depression!

Mighty Angus at about 3am.
Vegemite on toast at 11am.
Roast chook at 1pm.
Cooked-from-scratch chocolate cake at 4pm (hungover baking wooo)
Calamari and chips on Manly Beach at 8pm.

And that was my first day of 2010 summarised in food form.

but then it gets all cold! :(
I know.

My mother doesn't understand my logic.

*Me making pancakes*

Me: *puts pancake down on plate* Take one Mum!!

Her: But what about everyone else?

Me: QUICK!! It's getting cold.

Her: Oh all right.

Hehehehehehe.

Don't worry. I'm slowly converting her.

Ergh, after emerging from the wilderness over New Year i ate (at the same time): A very greasy large potate bake, a fishermans basket + large chips, cold steak + sausages, Black and Greens: white chocolate, aldi hazelnut chocolate, camembert & fetta cheese block, smoke salmon. Washed down with 2 cans of V and coke zero.
