ferdinand is good, if he had continue how he left off in World Cup 02, then yes, its very fair to put him in, but when he went to utd, his form was rather average...

there are others that played a lot better than him during that period of time

ferdinand did well when he came cos he replaced blanc
-_____________________________-;;

even ferdinand critised his form for man utd cos he was playing very average..comparing to how he played for england in WC, i would say his form in the red devil was dodgy

he ranked ahead of terry and king cos neither have that much of internation experience and eriksson was unwilling to break the bond between campbell and rio (cos by now, they both understand each other's game very well)
but now, it will be interesting cos both terry, king have been tested on international stage and performed very very well..so it will be interesting to see who starts against wales

Campbell and Rio compliment each other brilliantly. With Cole and Neville there too, England have a solid back 4. Hopefully Robinson will replace that clown David James, we might see something special for England.

yea..

i reckon if ferdinand plays like how he did when he came back from the suspension (and providing neville dun fuck up), england has one of the most solid back 4 in europe..and probably in the world..

hmm..this is how i would line up against wales

.......robinson.......
neville..ferdinand..campbell..a.cole
beckham..lampard..butt..bridge(if he is injuried, j.cole)
.....rooney...defoe...

I reckon the best England XI

.......................Robinson....................

.............Neville..King.. Campbell.. A Cole.......
..Wright-Phillips..Lampard...Gerrard (c)........J.Cole
--------------Rooney.........Defoe................

Rest of squad: Owen, Ferdinand, Woodgate, Bridge, Johnson, Kirkland, Smith, Beckham, Parker, Butt

Great looking side for the future. Rio or Woody will replace Campbell when he gets too old, Carragher will replace Neville. Looks like a damn fine side to me, one that will challenge in Europe for top honours maybe. Beckham out of the first choice XI because SWP is simply a better player. I think the best thing about England ist hat the squad is just so damn young. Other than Beckham, Campbell, Butt and Neville, I think the entire squad is 26 or under. Unless there are more early retirements, you have a squad there that will be around for another 2 world cups. Only concern is still the lack of a genuine left winger.

haaha, fair enouf, never liked carlos much anyway

using a 4-2-3-1 :
---------------------------------Buffon----------------------
--------Puyol--------Nesta-----------Terry------------Cannavaro
---------------------Gerrad------------Vieiri---------------
------------------------Ronaldinho------------Nedved
------Henry---------------------------------------------
--------------------------------Van Nistellrooy----------

subs: shevchenco,kaka,lampard,stam,
vanny edged out shevchenco/adriano cos hes the best at what he does...holding the ball up and scoring ugly goals.

Robinho is 20, Diego is 19 and im pretty sure Cavenaghi and Tevez are 20 or over.

Adu is heaps of potential but he hasn't played that great in MLS and he's untested in Europe etc.

i would have put Boijinov alongside Rooney but the rest of the side is gr8, especially De Rossi (his only shortcoming being Roman..)

gk: casillas

ch: ferdinand
ch: nesta
ch: cannavaro
lwb: roberto carlos

lcm: viera
rcm: gerrard
rw: c. ronaldo

cf: nedved
st: adriano
st: henry

that formation would look quite strange but i think it would be better for roberto carlos to have more space to run up the field.

-------------------Buffon

---Cafu----Nesta----Canavarro-----Zambrotta

-------------------Gattuso-----------------------

------Mancini-----Kaka`------Ronadinho / Nakamura :)eek:)

--------------Sheva------Adriano

Pretty unrealistic formation though.

To be a bit more solid.....:

-----------------------Buffon

Cafu-------Nesta-----Canavarro-------Zambrotta

-----------Gattuso---Pirlo----Davids---------------

---------------------kaka`/Ronaldinho

------------------Sheva-------Adriano-----------------

BTW, im not biased towards serie A players ;)

LOL team 2 might as well be Milan with a couple of key exceptions.
