If you read your 'source' correctly you would see it says "Neither of those courses are capped, despite any apparent statistics to the contrary" (in reference to Advanced English and Standard English). So obviously the source does not state that standard English is capped, like you said.

Ah wow, completely misread that. It said maximum [achieved] mark, not maximum [possible/capped] mark. Thanks for clearing that up.

How about scaling? Am I correct in saying all subjects are scaled using the same process, based on yearly candidature and that because of the higher ability of the advanced cohort, it scales better than standard?
