Software Programmer - CS Degree or Engineering Hons Software? (1 Viewer)

Software is an fun field for me. I want to know if I need a CS degree or a Engineerings Hons. Software degree in order to work at a top IT-firm?

Which do you think will get me there? A CS Degree (3 years) which is considerably easier to get into or an Engineering degree with Hons Software? (4 years)

Doesn't matter. Why even consider software eng at USYD when you could do it at UNSW, as the ATAR isn't much more.

Pick UNSW for CS or anything to do software.

It doesn't matter and you'll notice that SENG is almost identical to the CS at UNSW. Pick whichever you like. Keep in mind that software at usyd is a bit more like software with computer engineering so if you wanted to work in IT I'd go with the CS program there instead.
