What significant contribution has Preston Campbell ever made to origin football? Langer you might call an exception given he had arguably the best play making instincts of any player in the modern era and his defence was at times a problem.

Plus the game has evolved a lot since the 90's, with a few exceptions the big men were no longer as "duracel bunney" types as they are today nor was the the quick, targeted hit up mechanism anywhere near as sharp.I've got a dvd with the first five gf's of the 90's and its amazing watching how lose and scrappy it got in the last twenty minutes or so Something I remember Roy Masters discussed on offisders once when he picked his all time NSW origin side and most of the forwards were from latter half of the nineties and beyond. He basically said that someone like Ben Kennedy or Nathan Hindmarsh would run rings around a 1980's/early nineties forward in the last 15 minutes of the match.

Also if anyone tried to do Alfies trip over tackle style in the modern game they'd be suspended very quickly.
